HTC Sensation 4G now available at T-Mobile, $150 if you order online

Walmart shoppers may have been able to get their hands on the phone a few days early but, as promised , everyone else can now snag the HTC Sensation 4G direct from T-Mobile. What’s more, while the list price is the same $200 we’d heard previously (on a two-year contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate), the carrier is also offering an additional $50 off for those that order online, which brings the final cost down to the same $150 that Walmart’s been selling it for. The phone itself, of course, is the same we’ve been seeing all along: a 4.3-inch qHD screen, 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, and Android 2.3 with Sense. Hit the link below to get your order in if that sounds alright with you. T-Mobile USA to launch HTC Sensation on June 15, hits Wal-Mart ‘as early as June 12′

The foremost question in the hive mind of Android power users these days is typically whether to go with HTC’s 1.2GHz, dual-core, 4.3-inch Sensation or the similarly specced Galaxy S II from Samsung. Of course, neither of those is actually out in the US yet, so if patience is not your favorite virtue, T-Mobile just made that decision for you. The carrier has announced it’ll start selling the HTC Sensation from June 12th at Walmart stores, after which it’ll be “exclusively” available on June 15th from T-Mobile retail stores. Think about it. Samsung’s superphone shouldn’t be too far behind, but it does look like T-Mo subscribers will get a good few weeks to familiarize themselves with Sense 3.0 before having to hear any gloating about Super AMOLED Plus displays and 8.49mm slimness. PR after the break. Walmart rolling out dedicated wireless shops to 150 stores

Walmart may not be the obvious choice when it comes time to procure a new handset, but the retail monolith has been doing its darndnest to change that — if you’ll recall, it launched a trial of dedicated wireless stores in 20 of its locations last fall. Cleverly named Walmart Wireless, these showrooms are located in the front of the building — next to the optical and banking outlets — with an average size of 2,000 square feet. We’re hearing that the trial was so successful that it’ll soon expand said shops to an extra 150 locations by the year’s end. It’s hard to say which Wally Worlds will be the beneficiaries of the extended trial, but we’re guessing you’ll let us know if one invades your own down in comments below. Virgin Mobile announces new Broadband2Go plan, doles out 500MB for $20

Having an exclusive plan all to yourself deserves bragging rights — just ask Virgin Mobile’s ZTE Peel . When introduced last month, the Peel came with a brand-new monthly option that offered 500MB of data for $20, earning the envy of its broadband brethren. Starting today, Virgin Mobile is changing course to offer this plan on the network’s other Broadband2Go devices, the Ovation MC 760 USB and MiFi 2200 . What’s a bit puzzling here is that this new plan will be simultaneously offered next to Walmart’s deal — which doubles the capacity to 1GB for the same monthly fee. Confused? Us too. Anyway, if you’re still interested, look for the new plan to go live at 10 AM ET. Verizon’s Palm Pre 2 gets teased on Walmart’s site… in case someone still cares

With the next big thing out of Sunnyvale just weeks away , it’s hard to believe anyone much cares about about the Pre 2 at this point — but for what it’s worth, Walmart’s now pimping the Verizon-flavored version of the phone on its LetsTalk-powered website for a release at some indeterminate point in the future. Interestingly, the news of a February webOS event hosted by HP ties in nicely with a recent rumor on PhoneArena that suggests Big Red’s Pre 2 will live a very short retail life starting later this month as HP transitions into “its own line of webOS handsets,” which could very well be what these guys want to show off next month. Might we have a Kin -style collectors’ item in the making?
