LG Thrive transferring data

Using a data cable, I transferred a couple of Android games (APK files) from my computer to my Thrive. I placed them in the download folder. How do I access these games on the Thrive? They don’t show up on the downloads list.

LG Thrive Wifi

I am thinking about buying an LG Thrive to use with my Gophone plan.  I need some clarification about the WiFi feawture. Will it work only in AT&T hot spots or will it work on any WiFi network? For example, at work we have an open wifi, but it is not AT&T. Will the phone allow me to use this network? Thanks!

Go Phone change

I am thinking about changing from my Neon to a Thrive. I saw a Thrive advertised on Ebay. My question is, if I purchase the Thrive, can I simply remove the sim  card from my Neon and install it in the Thrive and everything will work?

Can’t connect to my WiFi at home

Recently, I bought the LG Thrive GoPhone and I can’t connect to my WiFi at home… I tried so many times but it’s not working. When I put the password for our WiFi, it looks like it’s authenticating but then it disconnects and does nothing but says “searching” and that’s it. What else do I need to do? I have another Droid phone and that one has no problem connecting :( . I like this phone but the not able to connect on my wifi is getting on my nerves.   Any help/tips?

Sending mail on the Thrive

When I send email from my thrive, it only goes to my outbox.  I then have to go to my outbox, check the email and send again.  Is there any way to have have it sent directly after I’ve composed and hit the send button?

AT&T LG Thrive GoPhone – New AT&T cell phones

The AT&T LG Thrive cell phone features include a 600MHz application processor, 3.2-megapixel camera, a 3.2 inch color full-touch display, AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Spot network, 2GB microSD card installed and Android 2.2 Froyo OS. …

LG Thrive debuts as AT&T’s first Android GoPhone, also available as the Phoenix for the committal-type

Those leery of long-term contracts may now join Android’s ranks on AT&T, who keeping with their promise , began shipping the Thrive, its first smartphone in the prepaid column. As we’d reported earlier, this restyled Optimus One can be yours for $179.99, no strings attached. Those scraping pennies together can join the (relatively limited) data consumption at 10MB per month for $5… though we feel 100MB for $15, or 500MB at $25, are comparatively better deals. On a related note, the same phone — this time known as the Phoenix — is available in slate blue attire with AT&T’s customary two-year commitment for $49.99. Though both phones ship with Froyo, we’re hopeful to see a Gingerbread update in due time — depending on Ma Bell’s whim, of course. New LG Android Release(s) – LG Phoenix/Thrive

Greetings LG board viewers,   It has come to my attention that a new LG smartphone is coming to AT&T on this Sunday, April 17, 2011. The name(s) of this new Android-powered smartphone are the LG Phoenix and the LG Thrive. They are basically the exact same phone, except that the Thrive is for prepaid GoPhone customers only (like myself) and the Phoenix is for regular postpaid customers. The Thrive will cost $179.99 on a prepaid account, no contract required. The new Phoenix will cost $49.99 with a qualifying new two-year contract. The Thrive comes in a silver color, and the Phoenix in a dark blue.   The LG Thrive is the first smartphone to be intended for AT&T’s prepaid customers only. However, in order to get a new Thrive, you will now be required to add a prepaid data plan to your account… The plans are $25 for 500MB, $15 for 100MB, and $5 for 10MB. This is the first “forced” data plan for prepaid customers, essentially, not a good thing. But when you look at the bright side, the prepaid data packages have been improved. The old packages were $4.99 for just 1MB of data, and $19.99 for the same 100MB plan (now $4.99 cheaper).   A full line of specs for these phones include…   * Android 2.2 platform * HSDPA 7.2 3G data speeds * 600MHz application processor * 3.2″ 320 x 480 262k color full-touch display * Wi-Fi/aGPS capable * 160MB User Memory w/ microSD storage (up to 32GB) * 2GB microSD card installed * 3.2MP Auto-focus camera * Stereo Bluetooth * Quad-band GSM / Tri-band 3G (world capable) * 1500 mAh long-life battery * Text/Picture and Video Messaging support * POP3/IMAP/Gmail/EAS email support   Additional information for the new LG Phoenix/Thrive can be found here:   http://m.engadget.com/default/article.do?artUrl=http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/12/froyo-based-lg-thrive-becomes-atandts-first-prepaid-smartphone-s/&category=classic&postPage=1   http://www.att.com/gen/press-room?pid=19623&cdvn=news&newsarticleid=31797&mapcode=consumer%7Cmobile-devices   http://www.androidcentral.com/lg-thrive-and-lg-phoenix-announced-bring-affordable-and-prepaid-smartphones-att

Froyo-based LG Thrive becomes AT&T’s first prepaid smartphone, ships April 17th alongside Phoenix

A G2x they ain’t, but AT&T’s newest duo from LG should certainly satisfy the cravings of less-demanding Android loyalists. Along with every other carrier in the world, Ma Bell has decided to pick up a couple of Optimus One variants , with the LG Thrive being christened as the operator’s first prepaid (GoPhone) smartphone. Aside from a tweak in hue, the postpaid Phoenix is the exact same handset, with both offering a totally familiar 600MHz processor, 3.2-inch (480 x 320) touchpanel, Android 2.2, a 3.2 megapixel camera and unlimited WiFi usage on the entire national AT&T WiFi Hot Spot network. Those opting for a contract-free affair can select the Thrive for $179.99, while the dark blue Phoenix will run $49.99 and demand two years of your cellular soul. In related news, AT&T is introducing a new prepaid data package with the LG Thrive, offering 500 MB of data for $25, with the fully skinny detailed just after the break.
