Nokia’s Mary McDowell announced the company’s third dual-SIM device, the C2-03, at CommunicAsia. It’s a portrait slider with a 320 x 240 touchscreen display paired with the company’s Touch and Type interface. Like the C2-00 , it’s based on S40 and supports Easy Swap — a handy feature that lets users hot swap their SIMs. Additionally, the phone sports a new version of Nokia’s web browser that compresses data up to 90 percent, and Nokia Maps for Series 40 — which provides location search and routing while offline. Amazingly, standby time is rated at a hearty 400 hours, and while the built-in memory is somewhat paltry (10MB), the storage can be expanded up to 32GB. It’s expected to be released in Q3 for €77, and will roll out across India, China, the south-east Asian-Pacific region, Eurasia, the middle east, and Africa. The C2-02, a single-SIM variant will debut alongside the more intriguing sibling, but we know you’re most interested in the dual-SIM darling, so hop past the break for an extended peek. Re: LG Neon Bluetooth support for laptops?
May 6th, 2011
jedwan They are two methods to transfer your contacts to an AT&T LG NEON II. The first is to use BLUETOOTH connection between the two phones or using the USB connection cable to your PC. In my case I have two LG phones. Sprint RUMOR 2 and AT&T LG NEON II they are very similar phones. Start by paring the two cell phones. Next select “ contacts ” on the source phone, next select “ options ” then select “ send contacts ” next select “ all ” then select the destination device (in my case it was the LG370 ) . Next select “ ok ” . You will see your contacts been transferred providing you acknowledge that it was OK to accept them on the destination device. You can also accomplish contact transfer by using the DATA cable. They are no drivers for the LG NEON II. To communicate with this phone you must do the following: Go to the “ Menu ” and scroll down to “ settings ” then scroll down to “ connection ” select “ USB Connection Mode ” then select “ Mass Storage ” (Please note that you must have a SD memory card installed to access the memory management) Let us pause here and set up the contact files. Launch Microsoft Outlook or similar program that can create vcards. I used outlook 2003. Click on New an untitled contact will open. Fill in the necessary information. For example name, home & cell phone numbers. Let go back to the cell phone connection. Connect the data cable to the cell phone and PC in a few seconds’ windows will ask you how you want to view the contents on this device. You will select view folder then navigate to the Other Files . Windows will assign a drive letter for this removable device. Now you can go back to outlook vcards under “ File ” you will select Save As. For the save in location you will select the Other Files on your cell phone. Change Save as Type to (vcards files *.vcf) then type the file name you want and then click SAVE . The file will be saved on the cell phone. You will need to do this for all of your contacts. When you finish all of your contacts you can disconnect the USB connection. Please use the safe disconnecting procedure of a removable device to prevent damage to you cell phone. With your phone disconnect from the PC check your contact list. If all of you contact are there you are good to go. If they are not, do not panic just do the following. Go to My Stuff select Other Files you should be able to see all of your contacts file with the .vcf ending. select one at a time and make sure the display field is fill out (with the name you would like to display) then click on save. This action will put them into your active contact list. LGE PC SUITE & DRIVERS LG GR500R XENON allows your LG NERO phone to connect to your Laptop via Bluetooth.

jedwan Some Apps downloaded fro Android Market can be moved to your storage card and you wont lose them when you Hard Reset. Go to Home> Menu> Settings> Applications> Manage applications> tap on each app in question and see if there is a button for Move to SD Card. It isnt there for all apps but is for some.
AT&T tells Samsung Focus customers not to buy microSD cards yet, wait for ‘certified’ ones
November 13th, 2010
jedwan We’d put forth the theory that Microsoft and Samsung would eventually certify microSD cards specifically for use with Windows Phone 7 devices after they finally came to terms with the fact that the microSD drama surronding the Focus was going to lead directly to broken devices and broken hearts — and sure enough, that’s exactly what’s happening. We just received this statement from AT&T, pointing out that the platform is extremely finicky when it comes to microSD selection — so finicky, in fact, that only “Certified for Windows Phone 7″ cards should be used. No such cards are currently available. Here’s the full statement: “Windows Phone 7 requires a certified high-speed microSD card for optimal performance. Because the Samsung Focus is expandable via a microSD card, only microSD memory cards certified for Windows Phone 7 should be used. This information is not currently marked on any microSD packaging in market today. As a result, we are advising customers to delay purchasing an external microSD card until the cards identified as “Certified for Windows Phone 7″ are available commercially or in AT&T stores.” Coincidentally, we appear to have fried a card after moving it in and out of our own Focus today to the point that no PC, phone, or camera can read it anymore, so this is definitely a real problem that needs a real solution. It’s odd that Microsoft appears to have been fully aware of this situation prior to release and yet AT&T’s only now drawing the line, but we can’t even imagine the kinds of bureaucratic head-butting that happens between corporations the size of AT&T, Microsoft, and Samsung. In the meantime, be careful out there, folks. Re: LG Encore (GT550) – USB Data Cable – Special or Ubiquitous ?
November 1st, 2010
admin Hey, thanks for the rundown there. Much appreciated. I ended up grabbing a USB data cable from Amazon, microUSB connector of course, for about $6 shipped. It was termed “Blackberry” but was probably just a standard cable. Anyhow, it seems to work perfectly with my LG Encore. Plugging it in I got the “Ask What USB Connection” question on the phone as expected. If I hit Close/Cancel, the cable just acts as a charger for the phone, and the computer didn’t think anything different. If I selected Mass Storage, my computer immediately processed the connection as a pair of flash drives (LG memory and microSD card I think), again, as expected. I haven’t yet tried Data Mode or Music Sync. Thanks for the drivers download link – that’ll come in handy. I had already grabbed USB drivers (but hadn’t yet installed them) from the LG support site, but it looks like the linik you provided offers a newer drivers file. Cool. Thanks again, -jts
Re: Tilt Messaging (Pocket Outlook) Application load issue
September 11th, 2010
admin Well, perserverance pays off to avoid the dreaded master reset. After searching several forums, I found someone who solved this issue by simply deleting the inbox.mst file. In my case, it was an empty folder on the root of the storage card, the name having a bunch of numbers after it. After I deleted the folder, presto, messaging now loads up and my settings are preserved. (I don’t retain e-mail on my phone anyway, so didn’t lose any data.) Hope this helps someone else in the same scenario.
