Your hopes, dreams, and deepest desires for a keyboardless CLIQ have finally materialized today now that Motorola’s CLIQ XT has reached T-Mobile shops across the country. Interestingly, yesterday’s leaked documentation pegged the date, but not the price — rather than the rumored $99.99, the XT will actually be going for $129.99 on a two-year contract. We guess that’s still not bad for a bona fide myTouch 3G alternative with a 5 megapixel cam — as long as you can get down with Blur , of course. Motorola CLIQ XT comes to T-Mobile for $129.99 originally appeared on Engadget on Wed, 17 Mar 2010 06:21:00 EST. Please see our terms for use of feeds . Permalink

Even as the rise of free navigation apps gives most paid competitors pause (if not killing them outright ), Navigon has managed to stay well ahead of the pack with a robust, oft-updated smartphone solution, despite charging over $80 for the privilege. But now, even that last bit can change. For $30, Navigon’s MyRegion gives you its premium MobileNavigator software at around one-third the price, with the simple caveat that you only get maps for one-third of the US (East, West or Central) to go with it. Should you drive out of your designated zone, Navigon will generously allow you to buy another chunk a la carte for $15; and all of Navigon’s other add-ons , including the new MyRoutes feature (customized route recommendations and alternate routes) are similarly available. It’s not quite as delectable as gratis, but we have to admit a certain admiration for Navigon turning software investment into impulse buy. Oh, and speaking of impulsive: Navigon’s offering MyRegion for the low, low price of $25 through April 12th. I have a Tilt2, currently on my 4th device, this one being a (slightly ) reconditioned unit. For me, each unit has has sluggish performance, memory allocation issues (ram/processor), and a few bugs that have all resulted in a (at least) daily need to reset the device. This isnt meant to be a review, so I’ll put aside thoughts on the lack of headphone outlet, etc…..(for the record, I’ve done some registry tweeks and memory utilization, and while it has helped a bit, memory usage and sluggish performance is still an issue) Like most people here, I obligated myself with ATT for two years when getting this. While the price was right at the time, I’m wondering if there is much life beyond the introduction of WM7. I’ve found a slight lack of useful apps for WM6.5, though will admit to not spending too much time perusing the web. But I do wonder what will happen when WM7 arrives, if all development app and support wise will be pointed there. Will WM6.5 become obsolete in a few months, and if so, was there a point to releasing a os that lasts just a few months? I’m guessing that all future apps/software will be directed towards 7, that there will be nothing new after that point for 6.5…………. So in the limited life of mobile devices, I’m wondering if our basic ’shelf life’ is about 6 months. I’m not saying the phone wont work or that we wont get support, but for those who haven’t installed custom cabs, we’re tethered to what branded services and software we have access to……

We know you’ve barely recovered from our Devour review , but Moto just threw another Blur-ified phone in our laps this afternoon – the CLIQ XT . We’ve been playing around with the Android 1.5-based, Flash Lite -supported, multitouch-capable handset for the last couple of hours — but before we grace you with our first impressions, just a fair warning: we don’t yet know the price of the new T-Mobile Android handset, though Motorola did promise us that it will hit shelves this month. With that said, hit the break for a quick rundown of our early thoughts.
