Droid Bionic seemingly clears the FCC, may finally be headed for (US) glory

Is this the Droid Bionic, eager to make its US debut at long last? After a false start , it’s looking more and more like Motorola’s next superphone could be inching ever closer to that elusive “summer release,” with a new FCC filing showcasing a cellular communications device with EVDO, LTE, 700MHz radios, Bluetooth, 802.11b/g/n WiFi and an inductive charging battery cover. ‘Course, a few things are still under wraps until August 7th, so it’s fairly impossible to tell with any level of certainty what handset we’re peering at. The clues most certainly add up, however, and if you were thinking of holding out just a wee bit longer, maybe the outline above is just what you needed to find patience (and all her friends). Moto mysteries abound: Droid HD posts to Flickr, new blurry cam pics

Gadget news, like dating and crate digging, is all about the thrill of the hunt. Sure, big press events where you get to manhandle the objects of your desire are fun, but give us Mr. Blurry Cam and some EXIF data any day. With that in mind, we present to you an out of focus pic of what looks like that tweaked Bionic and a reference to the Droid HD on Flickr, coming straight out of the Motorola campus in Libertyville, Illinois (since removed). Now, the two things are not necessarily related, but it’s possible that the dual-core LTE handset is getting a new name to match its updated internals and redesigned exterior (though, if it’s different inside, outside, and has a new name, is it really the Droid Bionic any more?). We do know that, what began life as the Targa , can capture 1080p video, which matches up nicely with the HD moniker. It’s also possible that the pic taker is an as yet unseen device and our (moto)blurry friend above is simply a Bionic destined for another carrier. Either way, we’re hooked — at least until the PR hits our inbox, then it’s back in the Mystery Machine. Droid 3 leaks reveal manual, confirm July 7th and 14th release dates

The oft-leaked Motorola Droid 3 is dripping information yet again, this time over on Droid-Life where an internal flyer confirms it will be available at retail locations July 14th , with direct fulfillment orders (upgrade in-store, get the phone by mail) starting a week earlier . If that’s somehow not enough, there’s also a PDF copy of the manual available for download but if you watched the tutorial videos there’s probably not much new information to be digested there. The one detail that continues to elude us however, is a confirmed price for Verizon’s QWERTY slider w/ 1080p camera and dual core processor, but after all the early reveals we’re sure you’ve had time to scrape together a suitable dowry. Motorola XT316 passes second round at FCC, this time endowed with AT&T 3G

It feels like we’ve been down this road before, but this time we may be lead to a different destination. Motorola’s XT316 went through its paces at the FCC a couple months ago with Chinese 3G bands, which indicated there was seemingly no hope of the Android device seeing the light of day in the US of A. This time around, the smaller version of the Droid Pro’s been given the federal go-ahead with AT&T-compatible 3G bands. Everything else appears to be the same, right down to the identical drawing of the handset’s dimensions. Does this mean the XT316 will be in stock at your local store anytime soon? We can’t say with certainty, but at least the government won’t be standing in your way. HTC Freestyle Disappointment

I have the Freestyle and have posted several questions/comments on the HTC site. One would think that HTC, or AT&T might respond to some of the unanswered comments/questions, with some answers, but only silence. When I first upgraded to this phone I was really excited at all the possibilities of having a “hybrid” feature/smart phone. No such luck. No updates and numerous problems. Bluetooth is really bad for features. I have moved my SIM card back to my Motorola v9x and am again very happy.. It is too bad I am past the 30 day return period, as this phone would go back in an instant. I, for one, feel like AT&T and HTC have sold us an inferior product with no support.  Now I am stuck in my 2 year contract with a ???????
