HTC EVO 3D on sale now to Sprint Premier customers: $200 on a two-year contract

Settled on an EVO 3D , did you? If you just so happen to be a part of Sprint’s Premier club, it looks as if your floodgates are wide open. A spate of tipsters (as well as our own Richard Lawler) have confirmed this evening that Sprint’s latest whiz-bang superphone is indeed on sale to an elite few, with $199.99 netting you the handset along with a particularly daunting two-year ball / chain combination. $549.99 buys it outright, but there’s no clear indication on if these are indeed shipping out in the morning. Either way, we’re guessing it’s going to be mighty hard to resist this fellow — you know, Because life is in 3D . [Thanks to everyone who sent this in] Continue reading HTC EVO 3D on sale now to Sprint Premier customers: $200 on a two-year contract HTC EVO 3D on sale now to Sprint Premier customers: $200 on a two-year contract originally appeared on Engadget on Tue, 21 Jun 2011 01:15:00 EST. Does this Xperia Play have HDMI output? (updated: dev unit)

Here’s a little intrigue to go along with your morning cuppa. The Xperia Play is a lovely bit of hardware lacking in a few crucial areas — one being an inability to play games over HDMI. That’s a definite problem for those who aren’t quite ready to devote themselves wholesale to gaming on the (very) small screen. We had hoped Sony might release a micro-USB to HDMI adapter at some point, and indeed when we first saw the image above of a Play pumping graphics to an HDTV that’s what we thought we had. But, on closer examination, we realized that the cable is coming out of the left side of the handset. On the current retail Play there’s nothing there but shiny chrome, which you can see for yourself after the break. We also took a look at the exposed motherboard , and there are no obvious contacts. This could be a developer edition with additional ports, but none of the dev whitepapers we’ve pored over this morning mention any such things, so maybe a revised version of the hardware is coming that adds a hole where once there was none. We’ll keep working to find out what’s up, but weigh in for yourself in the comments below. Updated : Sure enough, this appears to be just a developer unit, one which we expect to be seeing a lot more of at E3 next week. Qualcomm confirms its Snapdragon processor will power ‘new generation of Windows Phone’ devices

We’d heard some rumblings ST-Ericsson might be moving in on its turf with Nokia’s Windows Phone devices, but Qualcomm has now reasserted that it’s still the main game in town. Following the big Mango announcement this morning, Qualcomm confirmed that Microsoft has chosen it to bring a “new generation of Windows Phone handsets exclusively featuring Qualcomm’s second generation Snapdragon mobile processors to market.” The company’s executive vice president, Steve Mollenkopf, further went on to say that Qualcomm is “excited about this next Windows Phone Mango release,” and that it will “leverage the synergy of our highly integrated second generation Snapdragon solution and Microsoft’s Windows Phone software.” Leveraging synergy, what more could you ask for? HTC Aria software update error

I am part of the transition from Alltel to AT&T after AT&T bought them out.  The transition actually happened on April 12th, so I have been using my phone for about 5 days.  As of this morning, whenever I turn on my phone, a pop up appears saying “checking for new software avaible now” and then immediately it goes to another pop up that says “error  server unavailable”.  I am not very knowledgable in all the ‘download” “update” “install” etc. talk I see on here so much.  Is there an answer for someone who simply wants to use the phone, texting, and data, but doesn’t know a lot of the technical stuff?  How do I fix this problem, and what caused it to start suddenly?  Please explain in terms I might be able to understand.  Thanks to all ahead of time, for being patient with me.:smileysad:
