HTC Eternity leaked: 1.5GHz processor, 4.7-inch display, front-facing camera

As the world runs short on snarky phone titles (and in fact, starts using a couple of the gems on more than one occasion ), we’re left to overlook the moniker here while focusing on what’s important: that display. In fact, the 4.7-inch WVGA Super LCD shown here actually does seem to extend on for Eternity, and if HTC Inside ‘s leak pans out, we could be looking at the world’s next WP7 superphone. It’s bruited that this fellow will be shipping with a single-core 1.5GHz processor, 8 megapixel camera (autofocus, dual LED flash), a 720p movie mode, front-facing 1.3 megapixel camera, 16GB of storage, DLNA support, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS and a 1,650mAh battery. That’s a pretty startling list of features, and savvy Windows Phone followers will recognize that the Mango update will indeed be necessary before that front-facing shooter becomes useful. Needless to say, we’ll be keeping an ear to the ground for more, as essentials like price and release have thus far eluded us. Moto mysteries abound: Droid HD posts to Flickr, new blurry cam pics

Gadget news, like dating and crate digging, is all about the thrill of the hunt. Sure, big press events where you get to manhandle the objects of your desire are fun, but give us Mr. Blurry Cam and some EXIF data any day. With that in mind, we present to you an out of focus pic of what looks like that tweaked Bionic and a reference to the Droid HD on Flickr, coming straight out of the Motorola campus in Libertyville, Illinois (since removed). Now, the two things are not necessarily related, but it’s possible that the dual-core LTE handset is getting a new name to match its updated internals and redesigned exterior (though, if it’s different inside, outside, and has a new name, is it really the Droid Bionic any more?). We do know that, what began life as the Targa , can capture 1080p video, which matches up nicely with the HD moniker. It’s also possible that the pic taker is an as yet unseen device and our (moto)blurry friend above is simply a Bionic destined for another carrier. Either way, we’re hooked — at least until the PR hits our inbox, then it’s back in the Mystery Machine. Verizon data charges leak continues, $30 tethering for 4G customers

The scan above purports to show a Verizon customer brochure that will appear in stores next Thursday, revealing nothing beyond the detailed leaks we’ve already reported but at least providing some reassuringly crinkled corroboration of the salient details. New customers will barred from the happy land of unlimited data, and will instead have to cough up tiered monthly fees ranging from $10 for 75MB up to $80 for 10GB, plus an extra $20 for tethering rights. In a separate turn to this tale, we hear that customers who want to tether to a 4G handset will have to pay $30 per month to keep Big Red happy. This might come as a shock if you’ve been living it up on the free tethering offer that ends next week, but we had a strong inkling it was coming. Besides, it’s not all bad: those 30 bucks will get you unlimited data on the fastest LTE network around, whereas $20 crew must make do with a mere 2GB monthly. OnLive Viewer hits HTC Flyer, ripped and posted for other Android gaming voyeurs (video)

Those of you toting around an HTC Flyer probably just got an update that loaded OnLive Viewer on your 7-inch tablet. Don’t get too excited though, the name of the app says it all — this is a viewer not a player . So, if you’ve got a voyeuristic streak, you can watch others shoot their way through F.E.A.R. 3 , but you won’t slowing down time yourself. If that sounds like a blast but you don’t have a Flyer, fear not, the folks at the XDA forums were kind enough to rip the APK and post it for all the world to enjoy. We successfully tested it on a Droid X, and reports are that it’s up and running on the EVO 4G, Desire HD, and even a hacked Nook Color. Once installed you’ll just need a WiFi connection (the app kicks you back to the homescreen on 3G) and low expectations — the video quality was less than impressive. Hit up the source link to download it for yourself, and check out the video our tipster sent us after the break. Sharp SH8188U is run-of-the-mill 1GHz Android, awaits (possible stateside) introduction

Well, look at what the cat dragged in. Today we’re given a view of the Sharp SH8188U, a Froyo-filled slate phone that sports a Qualcomm MSM8255 SoC. Like other handsets of this heritage — including the Incredible S and myTouch 4G — users can expect a familiar 1GHz Scorpion CPU paired with an Adreno 205 GPU. While the device has floated around the interwebs since May, we’ve sourced new details from the Bluetooth SIG that suggest North America might get a piece of the action. Of course, a new radio would be required for stateside use, because while quadband GSM functionality is there, current specs list only 2100 / 900MHz 3G support — fine for Europe and Asia, but incompatible with our 1900 / 1700 / 850MHz spectrums. Externally, consumers will find a WVGA LCD display (800 x 480), a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, what appears to be a front-facing self-shooter, and HDMI. Curiously, we’re seeing benchmarks of the SH8188U running Android 2.3.4 (details below) — good news indeed, because Froyo is really starting to melt. Nokia’s Android flirtations revealed

We don’t know if this device is ” super confidential ” or not, but we’ve just come across yet another Nokia N9 lookalike with a non-MeeGo operating system on board. Well, it looks that way, anyhow. There’s no way to verify that the Android homescreen we see above is a legitimate Gingerbread installation and not a mere screenshot (the resolution looks all wrong, for one thing), but the source of this image is the same Chinese fellow that posted a picture of Nokia’s Windows Phone prototype, the Sea Ray , way back in May, so we’re inclined to believe he’s got an inside line on these things. Additionally, the undersized Android UI elements on the screen actually encourage us to believe that this is indeed a Nokia testing device — if we were going to fake something like this, we’d use a regular screen grab for our tomfoolery — and Stephen Elop has openly admitted that Nokia spent a couple of wild seconds contemplating a switch to Android. Well, folks, here’s what that alternate future might have looked like. Alleged shot of Sony Ericsson Xperia Duo surfaces

There’s not really much more than the image above to go on with this one, but what you’re looking at is purported to be the as-yet-unannounced Xperia Duo, which may or may not be Sony Ericsson’s first dual-core phone. As you can see, it bears some resemblance to the Xperia Arc , with what appears to be a large, edge-to-edge display and a UI that’s apparently been tweaked a bit from what we’ve seen previously on SE phones, including a different weather widget and media player controls under the dock. Of course, it is still just a single image, so we’d recommend taking it with the usual grain of salt for the time being. T-Mobile G2 not long for this world, per leaked document

We’d like to think that good phones — like soldiers — don’t die, they just fade away, solemn and proud, with a faint tear rolling down the cameraside cheek. This appears to be the case for T-Mobile’s G2 , which seems content to quietly disappear as younger and fresher handsets are prepped to take its place in the near future. It’s no longer anywhere to be found on the carrier’s site, and a leaked document (shown above) has surfaced that mentions the phone’s inevitable demise. If the G2 is truly nearing EOL status , we suspect T-Mobile is ditching it to make room for newer QWERTY Android phones like the MyTouch 4G Slide . Regardless, if you have any inkling to get the G2 before it completes the path to obscurity, now would be an ideal time to lace up the running shoes. New and improved Droid Bionic getting a 4.5-inch display and docking connection?

Since Motorola delayed the launch of the LTE-equipped Droid Bionic to carry out “several enhancements,” we’ve debated if this might entail swapping out Tegra 2 in favor of a PowerVR GPU. But now leaked photos are starting to surface, and it would seem that Motorola went and redesigned the body, too. These pics reveal a phone with a 4.5-inch qHD display running Gingerbread — not the 4.3-incher with Froyo that was originally slated to ship this spring. Even more intriguing, the revamped handset sports an Atrix -like docking connection, suggesting that new and improved user experience will include the option of a so-called lapdock. And, as an added flourish, Motorola smoothed out the rubberized back cover, nixing the pattern it had at CES. No further word on a launch date, but for now you can get your fill of spy shots at the source link. The Sony Ericsson Urushi leaks again: ST18i exposed

Remember that Sony Ericsson that leaked awhile back, the ST18i ? Well, here’s the Urushi again, all fired up and ready for a few holes of Lets Golf 2 . Inside is a 1GHz ARM processor with an Adreno 205 GPU which, if you’re on top of your SOCs you’d know, means there’s a single-core Snapdragon under the hood. It appears Sony put a meager 335MB of RAM on board — enough for basic use, but it’ll probably get bogged down under heavy multitasking. We can also confirm that this little guy is pushing Gingerbread, with the expected load of customizations, to its 854 x 480, 3.2-inch screen. Hit up the source link for a healthy dose of picage.
