T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide spotted in the clear, sans case

We’ve already seen it turn up in a few blurry shots , and seen it pictured a bit more clearly inside a case , but we now finally have our first good, unobstructed look at T-Mobile’s still unannounced myTouch 4G Slide . What’s more, the tipster that provided the shots to TmoNews also offered up a few quick impressions, saying that the keyboard was “amazing” and roughly comparable to the T-Mobile G2 , and that the phone itself is “surprisingly fast” but a bit heavier than the G2. Hit up the source link below for a closer look. T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide spotted in the clear, sans case originally appeared on Engadget on Sun, 19 Jun 2011 14:57:00 EST. Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Pro successor spotted as SK17i, sports Gingerbread

Looking for your fibrous dose of gadget leak? Look no further than China which has, again and again , outed several spy shots of what appears to be the Xperia X10 Mini Pro’s successor. Dubbed the SK17i and codenamed “Mango,” this time we’re looking at some proof of Android 2.3 on this little Sony Ericsson slider, along with a homescreen UI not dissimilar to that of the X10 Mini and X8 series. Other than that, we’re not seeing anything new here, though we can’t help but wonder if the unused Xperia Duo trademark has finally found its rightful owner — you know, maybe Duo as in a two-part slider phone? As always, only time will tell. [Thanks, @Tehpriest ] Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Pro successor spotted as SK17i, sports Gingerbread originally appeared on Engadget on Mon, 04 Apr 2011 00:27:00 EST. Sony Ericsson MT15i / Vivaz 2 ensnared by Eldar Murtazin, given glowing preview

The choice of Android Gingerbread handsets just grew by one, courtesy of the Sony Ericsson MT15i and Russia’s premier mobile reviewer, Eldar Murtazin , who has put it through his rigorous preview cycle. The typically curmudgeonly gent was pleasantly surprised by SE’s latest (and entirely unofficial) handset, claiming that the company “has developed and is about to launch truly cutting edge devices and … has almost nothing to fear in the hardware department as well.” He has praise for the above-average front-facing cam, the durability offered by the 1500mAh battery, and the 854 x 480 res on the Bravia Reality Display — though he does warn that Sony’s Bravia Engine is only used when consuming multimedia and therefore has limited impact on improving output quality. Internally, you’re looking at 512MB of RAM and a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM7630 with Adreno 205 graphics, all of which resulted in perfectly smooth, lag-free operation. In spite of its many positives, Eldar describes the MT15i as a phone targeting the mid-range, which invites all sorts of delicious pricing speculation, though were not entirely sure we agree with his postulation that this handset will be called the Vivaz 2. The Xperia branding up front and the replacement of Symbian with Android would collectively suggest it’ll bear an altogether new name when it’s unveiled — which we’ll go ahead and guess is going to happen at MWC next month. Samsung Vibrant 4G for T-Mobile: in the wild and full of Gingerbread?

Perhaps Samsung’s Vibrant 4G won’t be tied to Froyo, after all. Although the initial leak suggested Android 2.2 , Boy Genius Report’s managed to obtain what it suggests is an in-the-wild shot with a lock screen that looks remarkably reminiscent of the aesthetic touches from Android 2.3 Gingerbread . No TouchWiz UI here, but word on the street (i.e. from its source) is Sammy’s hard at work to remedy that disconnect and make the skin jibe with the new version. And if that’s not enough, TmoNews is claiming a leaked document that indicates Vibrant 4G will launch February 23rd. Back to the picture, though: if that timestamp is at all accurate, and this is really just hours fresh, perhaps that lucky right-handed gent can snap a few more convincing shots while it charges. Another Sony Ericsson Android leaked in China, successor to the X10 Mini Pro?

Once again, here’s proof that China is the place to be for piping-hot gadget leaks. The latest delivery is yet another mysterious Sony Ericsson handset, which is allegedly the Android 2.3 successor to the much loved X10 Mini Pro slider but with an X8 screen size. Despite its modest dimensions, this little gem packs a 1GHz chip with an Adreno 205 GPU, scoring an impressive 1,553 on the Quadrant benchmark app — coming close to the Nexus S’ score — and 42.5fps on Neocore, as pictured on the 3-inch 320 x 480 multitouch LCD above. It sure sounds juicy, except for one thing: the buttons are in reverse order of the current Xperia layout. Very funny , Sony Ericsson, now just give us a date. One more shot after the break. Palm Pre 2 in the wild?

Okay, now that we’ve got a bigger shot of this thing, we can definitely say that it’s neither a Pre nor a Pre Plus … so assuming it’s not some sophisticated fake, you’re feasting your eyes on Palm’s next-gen model here. Given how close it is to the model it’ll presumably be replacing, we can’t help but feel like the Pre 2 should’ve actually been the phone we call the Pre Plus today — and it should’ve launched six (or more) months ago — but in the event webOS 2.0 doesn’t come to older devices, we suppose that alone will be the impetus some current owners need to upgrade. ‘Course, the 1GHz processor should be nice, too. Hit up the source link for a few more shots of it slinking around the wild; meanwhile, we await Palm’s move on an official announce. LG Vortex for Verizon spied again: Bing, no FM radio

We’ve got a little more detail on Verizon’s low-end Vortex that leaked earlier this week, and pretty much everything we know confirms the phone’s place toward the bottom of the lineup. First off, it’s all done up with Bing apps just like the Fascinate , further suggesting that non- Droid Android devices are going to be bearing the brunt of Verizon’s search deal with Microsoft. Secondly, unlike the earlier leak, there’s no FM radio — makes sense, considering the general rarity of that feature in the US market. We can confirm that it’ll be shipping with Froyo installed, and our tipster tells us that it performs pretty admirably for what it is (especially in light of the fact that it’s got a mere 600MHz core). Follow the break for one more shot! BlackBerry Bold 9780 in the wild one more time, still looks exactly like a 9700

Look, we know that every new BlackBerry model is going to bear a striking resemblance to the model it replaces — that’s just how RIM does things — but isn’t this getting a little out of hand? The BlackBerry 6 -equpped Bold 9780 has been leaked a few times at this point, but we’re seeing it now for the first time totally unshackled from Mr. Blurrycam’s surly bonds… and yeah, if you had any doubts as to whether it was a dead ringer for the 9700 it’ll likely be replacing, you can put those doubts to rest. Of course, when you’ve got a keyboard as good as the Bold series does, sometimes it’s best to leave well enough alone, we suppose — just makes that lucrative early upgrade market a little tougher to tap. T-Mobile G2 again, this time with less Mr. Blurrycam

So we just got a second batch of T-Mobile G2 shots dropped in our mailbox — and this time, you can get a much better look at the inner workings of the carrier’s version of the upcoming HTC Vision . Looks like this bad boy slides and tilts, which eliminates the need for a kickstand and is very likely causing you to breathe an audible sigh of relief right about now. Meanwhile, the backside reveals that HTC looks ready to really get into this asymmetrical design concept — something we’ve definitely seen on the Schubert / Mozart — and realistically, it’s probably going to polarize some buyers. Check out the gallery for a few more shots! Update: We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we’ve just been told that the G2 doesn’t have a tilting screen, despite what you see up there — it’s just the inner workings of the slide being pulled up. Our hearts have been ripped from our chests on this one, rest assured. T-Mobile G2 again, this time with less Mr. Blurrycam originally appeared on Engadget on Fri, 20 Aug 2010 13:10:00 EST. Sprint’s 3G-capable Airave from Airvana starts shipping

Corporate-owned Sprint stores that we’ve called don’t seem to know what we’re talking about, but at least one reader has managed to get Sprint telesales to ship him one of its long-rumored upgraded Airaves from Airvana that supports EV-DO (the original model sported 1xRTT only for data). Our tipster tells us this bad boy will run up to six simultaneous calls — up from the old Samsung’s three — and although the femtocell supports a VoIP landline connection, Sprint is telling folks that it’s not available for use just yet. The jury’s still out on whether this looks better than the outgoing model — but hey, you can always shove it in a corner where no one will notice it; in the short term, the bigger concern will probably be finding a store willing and able to sell it to you.
