jedwan If you don’t have your HTC Inspire manual, you can download one, and save it to your ‘desktop,’ for quick reference. Go to the “About People,” then to “Setting up my contact card.” The following pages after that, will tell you, in detail, everything you should need to know.
Re: My Inspire 4g is getting horrible speeds

jedwan Did you check for and install the software upgrade? It’s supposed to affect the HSPA+ (H+). If not, to download and install it, turn on your phone’s wi-fi and go to: [ Home> Menu> Settings> AT&T Software Update> HTC Wi-Fi software update ]. It will install automatically — just follow along. But even with the update, you may not get any faster speeds. I bought my Inspire 3 weeks ago. Without the upgrade I was getting download and page load speeds that were about the same as the (heavily modded) Tilt 2 I traded up from. The software upgrade didn’t make a difference, for a couple of days. Still got mid-range HSPA. Average was about .5-1.5 Mb/sec, same as with the Tilt 2. Then, about 2 weeks ago, I noticed that web pages started loading wicked fast. Speed tests said I was getting 2-3 Mb, and even faster (up to 4 Mb), and the speeds seldom fell below 1 Mb. After a couple days of that, everything fell back to mid-range HSPA again, at best. Then I started seeing speeds below a half of a Mb more frequently. On my Tilt 2, I almost never saw speeds that low, and when I did, it was only for a few minutes at most. Now I was seeing test results in the 200-400 kilobit range about half the time — and a lot more often than I was seeing speeds at the higher end of the range, nearer to 2 Mb. So things were actually worse than when I started. So I called AT&T, and was told both by customer service and tech support that they were still rolling out the higher speeds in my area. They were pretty specific. They said it would be finished early last week. Whether they finished or not, I’m still waiting for the higher speeds. Occasionally I’ll get bursts of higher end performance — close to 2 Mb — but most of the time it’s back to the same speed ranges I got with my Tilt. I have noticed that I’m getting really slow-speeds less often, and for shorter periods. Right now, everything is exactly where it used to be with my Tilt. I suppose I should be happy that the service at least stopped getting worse. Same thing may be happening to you. Either they haven’t rolled it out, or are still rolling it out, or they screwed up the rollout where you live, or whatever. Good luck.

Re: HTC Inspire – Removing Facebook contacts

jedwan You might start by reading the HTC Inspire manual., starting on about page 75 (Accounts & sync). Are you using “Facebook for the HTC Sense,” or “Facebook for Android?” These are two separate apps., and perform quite differently. Perhaps you might share a little more detail?

Re: Sporadic GPS Signal on HTC Inspire

jedwan I had a phone (not Inspire) that did that. The folks at AT&T said that if that was the case, there is something wrong with the gps function on the phone and told me to return the phone.
Sporadic GPS Signal on HTC Inspire
June 18th, 2011
admin My Inspire loses its GPS signal frequently and sporadically. It has a clear view of the sky, and it’s not an apps problem. I have 3 nav apps on my device, and it does it in all 3. Anyone encountered this; and, if so, what’s the fix? Thanks very much.
