So, it turns out that when you crack open the EVO 3D , pixie dust doesn’t pour out of the thing — disappointing, sure, but such is life. Thankfully, there are some interesting things to look at, however, like the dual-core processor and, of course, the cameras that let you take all of those awesome 3D shots of your pets. Wanna see more of the magic? How about a seven minute teardown video shot with a cameraphone? It’s not quite the manner of pro teardowns we’re used to seeing from the folks at iFixit , but there is a certain joy in watching a guy excitedly tear open his new toy. At long last, the poverbial floodgates are open allowing you, dear reader, to rush to your local shop and acquire one for $200 — provided you’re willing to commit to a two year contract. Arriving on shelves alongside the glasses-free 3D handset is the HTC EVO View 4G , the Taiwanese company’s 7-inch tablet that (for the time being) comes packaged with the fancy Scribe stylus for $400. June 19th, 2011 admin Right on schedule , EVO Shift 4G owners should be able to step on up to Android 2.3. Yesterday, an anonymous tipster gave us a heads up that the upgrade was nigh, and indeed, we’re seeing reports that people are manually downloading the update, which includes not just Gingerbread, but Swype , a downloads application, and a fix for apps that haven’t been able to stream media. In fact, we’ve heard some folks say they received the update last night, when we had heard it was scheduled to drop today. If for some reason you want to wait until Sprint pushes the update to you, that should happen on Monday. As always, proceed with caution and let us know how it goes. June 4th, 2011 jedwan We’ve been hearing all sorts of details on the HTC EVO 3D as of late, but the only thing that hadn’t popped out at us was the launch date. We knew the day was drawing near, evidenced by the phone being put up for pre-orders at Sprint and RadioShack , but we have a little more to chew on. The June 24th launch date on this promotional flyer jumps off the page more than the EVO 3D does, and we really want to believe it; but even if this is an official flyer, it could simply mean that’s when RadioShack will begin selling it and it won’t be related to Sprint’s official launch. Still, if you’ve been waiting with bated breath to get your hands on your very own copy of The Green Hornet — oh, and a sweet phone while you’re at it — hang tight just a smidge longer.
