June 29th, 2011
admin Using a data cable, I transferred a couple of Android games (APK files) from my computer to my Thrive. I placed them in the download folder. How do I access these games on the Thrive? They don’t show up on the downloads list.
Droid 2 Global gets Gingerbread, customizable dock and more in latest update from Verizon
June 15th, 2011
admin Droid 2 Global users, your moment in the Gingerbread sun has arrived. Verizon’s put up a page with download instructions for a 103MB update, taking your QWERTY slider from version 2.4.330 to 4.5.600. Updating isn’t the most taxing of activities, you just look for a system update in the About Phone menu and then give your blessing for the download to commence. VZW will also be prompting tardy users to take their OTA medicine in due course. So what’s new apart from Android 2.3? Well, the big change is that the previously static phone, contacts and apps icons at the bottom of the UI have now been turned into a user-customizable dock, with three links of your choosing sidling up next to the App Launcher. There’s also a freshened up UI look , a Download Manager App, user-definable App Groups, encryption for data both on the device and its SD card, improvements in battery life while using WiFi and Bluetooth, and the obligatory stability fixes. If all that sounds irresistible and you have the requisite phone in hand, go get it! Fuze & Mobile Banking
June 10th, 2011
jedwan Hi, I have had a Fuze for about 2 years. I am trying to hold on to it until the fall when the new iPhones and the updated WP7 phones come out. I did a hard reset today and now my Mobile Banking will not work. When I start the program, it automatically tries to update. I goes to the browser and a download link. When clicking the link, I get an error stating the archive file (.jar) cannot be found at the url. So, i copied the download link to my computer and downloaded a file without a problem, but it was a jad file. I transferred it to the phone and ran it. I now get an error stating that “Mobile Banking cannot be found in the local install folder. -77″ How can I get this to work?
iTunes leak suggests ‘Automatic Download’ over-the-air updates are coming in iOS 5
June 4th, 2011
jedwan In the lead-up to this year’s WWDC , we so far know three things for sure: Apple will unveil OS X Lion , iCloud , and… automatic, over-the-air app updates for iOS 5 , apparently. While searching for updates in iTunes, a MacRumors reader stumbled upon this page, which alludes to an “Automatic Download” feature that allows for wireless syncing. Also, the fact that Apple went out of its way to say “…if your device has Automatic Download enabled for apps” makes us wonder what else we’ll soon be able to update over the air. The company has since pulled the tattletale page in iTunes, but MacRumors grabbed a screenshot while it was still live. Looks like the cat’s out of the bag, but we’ll let you know when Jobs & Co. make it official on Monday . iTunes leak suggests ‘Automatic Download’ over-the-air updates are coming in iOS 5 originally appeared on Engadget on Sat, 04 Jun 2011 13:05:00 EST. Sony Ericsson boosts Xperia Arc and Play to 2.3.3, includes Facebook integration
May 27th, 2011
jedwan Well, Sony Ericsson might just deserve a gold star for effort. A week ago we reported that a possible rollout of the long-rumored Facebook integration update would come to select Xperia series phones this week, and we’re seeing the process begin today. The recipients of this particular push are the Arc and Play, though it will come to all new Xperia devices down the road. While the download includes Android 2.3.3 , the major focus is on “Facebook Inside Xperia,” another way for you to sync your social media with other aspects of your phone, such as contacts, calendar, and photo gallery. Other improvements in the package include WiFi stability, improved battery performance, HD video recording performance (Arc only), and bug fixes. Don’t stress if your phone hasn’t seen the update yet; Sony Ericsson says it’s rolling it out gradually due to issues with individual markets and carrier branding. No specific timeframe was given, though the company mentioned that “it can take a while.” Should you be one of the lucky recipients to get it today, however, sound off in the comments below.
