HTC Inspire – Email synch not working anymore

Is anybody else experiencing email synch problems?  I have three accounts set up via the Mail app that comes with the HTC Inspire and it was working until Saturday.  Now the mail app just opens, searches for synch and shows “no Mail”…but I had 46 emails yesterday in two accounts alone (checked on laptop).    I see the “Folders” emails…just not the new mails in the Inbox.  Cancelled and re-opened the accounts..not luck.  Background and synching is on.   The Mail screen just kind of bleeps for a few seconds like it is trying to show me something..but the..nothing.   Anybody have any idea on how I can get my mails again on the phone?   Thanks bunches. M

Re: HTC High Data Usage

First off, there are several HTC phones carried by AT&T, so it would help if you mentioned which one you own.   HTC phones do a good amount of data synching in the background, automatically, for the weather app, news, stocks, as well as auto synching Gmail and other email.   But I’m not sure if this would account for 700 Mb in 5 days.  You can try turning off the auto update on these items to see if it helps,  in Settings> Account & sync.

Microsoft to launch web-based Windows Phone Marketplace alongside ‘Mango’

We’re not quite sure why Microsoft didn’t make mention of it during its big event yesterday , but the company has now confirmed that its forthcoming ” Mango ” update will also bring with it another significant addition to the Windows Phone scene: a web-based Marketplace. That will of course let you browse and buy apps right from your favorite web browser, and then have them installed on your phone over-the-air ( “via SMS or email,” apparently ). You’ll also be able to take advantage of various social networking tie-ins to share apps with your friends, and the Marketplace will hang onto your download history so you can easily reinstall all of your apps if you switch phones — and, yes, you can count on plenty of Bing integration as well. Update: Microsoft got in touch with us to clear up some of the confusion about how apps are actually delivered to the phone. It says it expects the vast majority of customers to install apps OTA in a single step using its regular notification system. SMS would only be used in instances where that service is not already turned on, and in that case there would still be “no links or added engagement on the phone.” Customers can also choose to send themselves an email with a link to the app but, again, it expects most folks to simply let apps install in the background. Microsoft to launch web-based Windows Phone Marketplace alongside ‘Mango’ originally appeared on Engadget on Wed, 25 May 2011 15:42:00 EST. Please see our terms for use of feeds . Permalink

Re: LG Quantum Music Player

You can only pause. Yes, I’d love a stop button too, but this follows the way many music players operate. Pause is really all you need. You can go and play anything else you want at any time, or restart it. And pressing home only should open the home screen. Since there’s no multitasking yet, the back button fulfills much of the functionality. Music will play in the background (any other app will just pause itself). Hit back and it goes back to the music player.

Re: THE HTC INSPIRE IS FAR FROM INSPIRING. You will be dissapointed. Lacks in battery support.

Just adding on to the battery-saving list, live wallpapers use quite a bit of your battery level, also. When they are enabled, your phone must use extra power to make them move/animate, therefore using more of your battery level. I love having live wallpapers on my phone and as my background, despite that it uses more of my battery than I would prefer it to…   If you have a live wallpaper as your background, switching to a regular picture would also save your battery and add more usage to what you can get out of it. It’s the little things like that that can go a long way.

App Review: NetFront Life Browser for Android

This is no photoshop — it really is an Android browser that lets you tilt web pages, but there’s more than meets the eye. The folks at Access have just launched this free NetFront Life Browser, which packs a few interesting features that caught our attention. Let’s hold hands and walk through them together. Upon launching the app for the first time, we were taken to a “unified navigation” landing page that consists of two sections: the top half displays live thumbnails of opened windows, and swiping left or right gives you a smooth 3D transition between them; whereas the bottom half shows you stacks of pages

But first the background: cell phones from T-Mobile and AT & TA rely on the same type of network (called GSM) that most of the rest of the world uses. In theory, you can take these phones to other countries on international roaming and …
