Here’s the official document from AT&T on unlocking devices: http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=55002#fbid=JI2cFCRtJck Not all devices will be unlocked. Considering the Aria is exclusive to AT&T in the US, they are under no obligation to unlock it.

Re: AT&T, Google, and HTC promise Android Upgrades!
May 12th, 2011
admin Honestly I would be surprised if the Aria got Gingerbread. I won’t even speculate on the odds for getting Ice Cream Sandwich. If I still had the Aria, I would be happy with FroYo and the ability to install applications from unknown sources!
HTC Aria battery
April 30th, 2011
jedwan Anybody tried getting an upgraded batery for their Aria? For that matter it could be any HTC device I suppose. Mine came with a 1200 mAh battery. I’ve seen some 1500 ones on-line. Just curious if anybody has tried to upgrade and if they experienced better battery performance.

Re: HTC Aria software update error
April 18th, 2011
admin Are you running the Aria with Android 2.1? Go to settings > scroll down to About phone > software information > then look at the Android version. The update to FroYo (Android 2.2.2) is available, but only as a manual update. You have to go to HTC.com and download HTC Sync if you haven’t already and the update file. The instructions are on the site as well. I followed them and updated the Aria during the weekend that the update was released. http://www.htc.com/us/support/aria-att/downloads/

Receiving/Sending MMS turns on 3G and I can’t turn it off
January 2nd, 2011
jedwan For some inexplicable reason, everytime I try to send or receive a photo via MMS my Aria turns on the 3G wireless. This wouldn’t be much of a problem but my phone will not allow me to turn off 3G without restarting the phone. If I tell the phone to turn off the 3G, it appears to respond appropriately, but the 3G up-and-down arrows indicate that my phone is still transferring data over the 3G network. Has anyone heard of this problem or know of any solutions? Thanks.

admin Yes I am looking for the same thing, also trying to get the Aria to accept the text for the Star services, does not like the ‘*’ as the first digit
HTC Aria a comparable phone to the Motorola Droid 2?
October 30th, 2010
admin So, I am in the process of being forcibly transitioned to AT&T from Verizon and I have a simple question about the HTC Aria… is it ‘comparable’ to my Motorola Droid 2? Here is my story: http://forums.att.com/t5/General-Care/Forced-from-Verizon-to-AT-amp-T-by-merger/td-p/2531033 But here, I just want to talk about the phones. Here are the specs for my Droid 2: http://www.motorola.com/Consumers/US-EN/Consumer-Product-and-Services/Mobile-Phones/ci.Motorola-DROID-2-US-EN.alt Note things like the: 1 Gigaherz processor Mobile Hotspot Swype Andriod 2.2 Sliding Keyboard 5mp Camera with Dual LED Flash 8 gig onboard and 8 gig SD memory I could go on for hours, but you get the idea. Is the Aria a coparable phone? Are there phones in AT&T’s lineup that would be a more comparable phone?
