Tilt 2 Upgrade again – will it zap my 3rd party apps ?
September 29th, 2010 jedwan OK, I’ve heard over and over to backup my data before upgrading the rom, as it will be zapped. They say use Activesync. As far as backing up things like contacts and calendar, no problem. But will I lose all the apps that I’ve purchased and installed since I bought the Tilt 2 ? Things like ATT Navigator, the Resco utilities, SPB Weather, Weather Bug, etc. ? If so, do I need the .cab files to re-install ALL of them (I have a BUNCH) ? Thanks in advance, to someone who’s already been down this road. Not sure why apps would be affected, aren’t we flashing ROM (Read Only) ? Seems like newly installed programs shouldn’t be affected by a ROM upgrade. But if I knew, I wouldn’t be asking ….. Best regards, /Patskav

September 29th, 2010 jedwan Unfortunately, flashing the ROM will format the entire memory, so you are starting from scratch, similar to a hard reset (with of course, an updated OS). You will need to re-inistall all your apps.
