LG Vu920 battery life after inserting microchip and using mp3 player

The LG Vu battery life isn’t great — most of us know that.  Recently, however, my ipod died.  I transfered an audiobook from my computer into a microSD card, and decided I could use my phone as my ipod for the time being.  Well, now the battery life is HORRIBLE.

I will minimize the player for a while so that I don’t lose my place in the book.  I don’t know if this is what is doing it or what, but my phone will die in less than 24 hours.

I can charge my phone at work.  By 3 p.m. I will have the “charge complete” sign.  I will go home, listen to my book while I go to sleep for the night (maybe an hour), minimize it, and go to sleep.  When I wake up, the phone is completely dead.  Won’t even turn on.  Surely this isn’t normal.

I’m also noticing that if the phone tells me “charge complete” I can unplug it, and immediately plug it right back in, and it will charge for another two or so hours.  Surely this isn’t normal either?

Does using the mp3 player suck battery life like no other?  What happened?
