Hello friends. I’m trying to set a sound for the "Wireless network detected" event, but the setting is not "sticking," meaning it takes the change okay but after a few minutes it reverts to no action being selected. So if it wouldn’t be too much trouble, could a few of you try and set a sound to play when a new network is found? Don’t worry about actually testing it, I just want to know if the setting sticks for longer than a few hours. I’d appreciate your feedback, as it will let me know if it’s just my phone (hard to fathom) or an issue with the ROM in general. Settings-> Sound-> Advanced-> Notification Tab-> Event=Wireless network detected: Play sound = check (I’ve selected "Shine" as the sound) Thanks! -V

Windows Media Player freezes on my HTC Pure
November 29th, 2009
admin HELP! I have 2514 music files @ 192 kbps on a 16GB Class 6 microSDHC on my HTC Pure. WMP has recently started locking up, but only on 2 of my playlists. One playlist has 905 files, and the other has 1902 files. These same playlists worked previously, but now, only these 2 playlists lock up the media player when I select them. The list of songs never comes up, and an error report is sent. Other playlists are fine, and the 2 "corrupt?" playlists will play using HTC’s TouchFLO media Player installed with the phone. <<Correction: The playlist will come up but the music files don’t seem to play. It may just be slow instead of freezing.>> I recently installed a few programs, including SPB mobile shell (Which I have quickly come to love so much more than the default HTC interface) I tried to use the music widget, which just opens up Windows Media Player. I have tried uninstalling this, and deleting library database files and re-syncing and soft resets many, many times. <<as I’m typing, the music just started playing in HTC’s player.~5 min.>> Does anyone have any advice before I try a hard reset?

HTC Hero caught running Android 2.1?
November 29th, 2009
admin HTC promised the world an Android 2.0 -based firmware for its Hero line once it figured out the nitty gritty details of porting Sense to Google’s latest code, leapfrogging Donut altogether — but now, it looks like they’re gonna do one better. Screenshots found today show a Hero running Android 2.1, which would dovetail nicely with the fact that Google had teased a “minor update” to 2.0 before the end of 2009 back when it announced Eclair last month. The interface looks largely untouched from 1.5, proof that HTC was able to bring Sense up to speed with minimum drama; it’s unclear when this’ll all be available, but considering that Sprint’s version just got a super-minor update , some carrier-branded versions could be in for a wait. Synchronizing with a new Windows 7 computer
November 29th, 2009
jedwan To set up a sync relationship with a new Windows 7 computer, I have to delete one of the 2 prior ActiveSync computer relationships. But I lose all the information after the last sync with the old computers when I do that and I don’t have either old computer to update them first. How do I save the information on my device and set up a relationship with the new computer? Thanks.
