Had this phone for about one year. Clairity was ok; however, the menu wheel kept malfunctioning. You would turn it and nothing would happen, then you “spun” it and it would go to the next entry, the entry before or jump about twelve entries. The LCD was hard to read at night, not enough backlite. When on a belt clip and you hit up against something, it could turn on since the On/Off switch was a button.
Traded it in at PCS for a new Spring Touchpoint.
This phone was designed and built by Sony with the Qualcom digital electronics.
It’s a good thing their other products are built very well, because this phone was not.
Good solid phone. I got it because it was dual band (digital clarity when I’m in range, but I can use it anywhere) and long battery life (I can leave it on for 3 days and it won’t die on me). Contrary to others experience I’ve found it to be a tough phone. I’ve had the phone over a year and carry it everywhere strapped to my hip or in a bag, I bang it and drop it and it hasn’t stopped yet. If you read the manual, it has a feature to keep an accidental button press from turning it off. The price of the long battery life is that the phone is bigger than some and a bit harder to stick in your pocket. Not as slick as a startac or similar, but it’s cheaper that some smaller phones. Dual band and long battery life make it versatile.
Dual Band, Long battery life, Tough
Decent range, good clarity.
Menu wheel breaks
Larger than newer phones
